Sister's Trip to NYC

Ok, here goes on my 1st blogging experience! My sister is here for a couple days and is teaching me how to do this blogging thing. We'll see how it goes.

This Sister's trip idea started at Jenn's kitchen table when we were all in Utah this summer. I mentioned that we should do a Sister's trip every other year, and since it was kinda my idea- I was put in charge of being the travel agent for the first trip. I knew I wanted to see a Broadway Show, so I decided to actually go to Broadway itself! We got there Friday evening and ushered for the Blue Man Group- which was so Fun! If you usher- you get to watch the show for free! I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt!

That night we also ate Hot Dogs at 11:00 at night. On any normal given night- I would think that is totally sick. But, hey- we were in New York and I remember seeing Papaya Dog on the Travel Channel for one of the Best Hot Dogs, so we indulged! We stayed in Greenwhich Village in a hotel that you share a bathroom with 5 other rooms. I was trying to save us $ by getting that hotel, but I was a little nervous! They gave us robes and slippers to wear and I never even saw another person besides my sisters. So, it turned out great and was SOO much cheaper than staying at Times Square!

One of the 'wins' of the trip was being able to navigate the Subway system and basically find our way around this Huge city!! One obstacle was the weather- it pretty much rained the entire time we were there. But, we made the most of it and posed for "Singin in the Rain" photos. We went to Ellis Island, Ground Zero, China Town for lunch- we tried Tofu- yuck! We wished we would have eaten in Little Italy instead! We snoozed in the afternoon back at the hotel after walking 5 miles that day! Then I'd have to say the highlight of the trip was seeing "Wicked"! It was Awesome! After Wicked, we went to the top of the Empire State Bldg. We took a vote and 3 of us wanted cheesecake at Midnight- sorry Jenn! So, we all took turns wearing Jenn's high heels and got New York cheesecake! Got home around 3am.

Sunday, we had time to go to church at the temple! Which was cool! There were tons of other visitors like us! Then we ran over to Central Park just to see. I had souvenirs for all the kids, and I needed something for JD. So, the last thing I did was grab a Hot Dog from Papaya Dog for JD. 14 hours later, when I got home after getting bumped and getting $250 towards another flight- JD ate his hot dog!
